Dover Stone Church

10 minute drive from Brookby, Dover Stone Church is a nature preserve whose highlight is a stunning rock formation and waterfall in a cave. It was used by Native Americans as a hideout in the 17th century, and then for weddings in the 19th century.

Dover Stone Church Trail Map



Dover Oak Trail

Crossing the 1600' boardwalk, this trail spans the Great Swamp, New York State's third largest freshwater wetlands. Over 300 years old with a 20’ circumference, the Dover Oak is reportedly the largest tree on the 2,180 mile footpath from Georgia to Maine on the Appalachian Trail. It is on the NYS "Big Tree" Registry as the largest White Oak.
